One month to go! Now is the time to host your events, engage your audience and submit your ideas!
With just one month to go until the end of the Creating Our Future campaign, we’re calling on all researchers, campaign champions, businesses, stakeholders and members of the public to help get involved so that as many ideas are submitted as possible.
We want as many people as possible talking about the campaign and submitting ideas – whether through formal campaign events or even just having a conversation amongst your friends and family about how to create a better future, and making sure to submit your ideas on our website here.
We can also help run brainstorming sessions to properly introduce the campaign and to generate ideas among your organisation, provide speakers for events you are organising, promote your involvement in the campaign, and much more.
Please do get in touch with us at events@sfi.ie or by replying to this email to discuss how you can still get involved.
How’s it going – And which county is on top?
Another active week in the county league table this week. There is intense competition for spots between Tippery and Westmeath, Meath and Kildare and Leitrim and Longford.
Climbing up the ranks is Laois, up two spots, and Louth a whopping five spots. The top spots are holding steady with Sligo, Carlow and Clare leading the ranks and Monaghan, Cavan and Mayo pulling up the rear.
Silicon Republic: ‘Get ready for the 6G era that will be here by 2030’
Speaking with Silicon Republic, Julie Byrne, Chair of the Creating Our Future Advisory Forum, discusses how Ireland can remain competitive as countries battle with defining their post-COVID recovery paths, how the next era of communications technology will “literally transform how we do almost everything”, and how to ensure the Creating Our Future campaign has a lasting impact.

What have we been up to over the last week?
The team were thrilled to be joined by Senator Aisling Dolan to conduct a brainstorm session with the community in Ballinasloe this week, before setting up in the town as part of our Roadshow campaign.
Amongst other things, we’ve also launched a number of short video clips on our social media channels looking to galvanise potential ideas for the campaign – do keep an eye out on the Science Foundation Ireland channels to see these in action.
You’re invited to join our weekly drop-in sessions!
While we hope you find this weekly update to be helpful, there is no substitute for speaking face-to-face with members of the campaign. You may be aware that we host online drop-in sessions every Thursday with researchers and wider stakeholders to help outline what we’ve been up to and to answer your questions about the campaign – full details can be found below.
Researcher drop-in session
When does it take place? Every Thursday from 10:00 – 10:45, until the end of November
How can I join? Click here to add a weekly calendar reminder, or click here to join directly on the day.
How does it work? This session is very informal, giving us an opportunity to talk through the campaign what we’ve been up to over the past week, but also to take your questions and to discuss how researchers and the research community can get involved with the campaign.
